As snow begins to fall in parts of the UK this week, we are embracing all things cosy at Sorbet Living.
Outdoors, woolly hats, thick coats and layers are piled on to stay warm in the chill. And inside, we’re surrounding ourselves with snug natural fabrics and textures to welcome winter in our homes.
Sorbet Living’s Winter collection has cosy pieces to curl up with in front of a crackling fire. Our sheepskin cushions are dreamy to snuggle into, coming in cream or brown fleece, instantly giving your sofa a winter feel.
Blankets are a must at this time of year, on the end of beds for extra warmth or folded over the back of the sofa ready to curl under in the evenings. This season we have sourced a beautiful herringbone blanket made with traditional looms from the wool of Jacob’s sheep – an ancient breed in Scotland. Each blanket is unique in its shades, reflecting the fleece of the individual sheep!
Cosiness comes from the ambience of a room, as well as its layers and textures. Lighting candles bring a soft, atmospheric glow to a room and our seasonal candles were chosen for their gentle winter scents. London candle- makers Chatham & Chase are exclusive to Sorbet Living, with fragrances named after the ancient civilisations.
The Delphi candle is a Christmas favourite with hints of pine, Alexandria has scents of honey and spices and Petra’s citrus scents are fresh and festive.
We also have our signature pillar candles, made by hand with traditional dipping techniques and infused with beeswax. These come in two shades of green, with four candles in each. Our selection of handmade candleholders range from traditional to scalloped and hand-painted, perfect for adding height to a tablescape or dotting around a room.
To capture these pieces and our full winter collection, we held a shoot at the perfect cosy location – Brambling Lodge in West Sussex. This characterful cottage was built in the 1800s and carefully restored to retain its historic features, creating a classic, peaceful haven in the heart of the South Downs. Once you step inside, you’re cocooned from the outside world in a property that feels luxurious yet also lived-in and snug.

Brambling Lodge is available to rent through Luxury Boltholes, the south coast company that takes a fresh view on holiday homes. Their hand-picked collection offers unique, design-led properties and a tailor-made service, and the company’s founders Kate and Ed were a joy to work with on our seasonal shoot.
To celebrate the season of cosy, Luxury Boltholes is offering our readers an exclusive £50 off your first stay in any of their properties using the code SORBET50. This offer covers stays booked between now and 31st March 2025.
Thank you to Luxury Boltholes for helping us find the perfect cosy hideaway to bring our collection to life, and we hope this journal entry inspires you to hunker down and enjoy some quiet moments this winter.
