The Sorbet Living community take an unhurried, thoughtful approach to feathering their nests, spending time finding their favourite pieces to layer together and create restorative rituals. From the soft curve of a handmade mug to the inviting crumple of linen sheets, these little details enrich their daily lives and nurture a sense of joy and wellbeing in the home.
We seek out creative people and independent companies, some who are preserving techniques passed down through generations, and place their pieces side by side in our seasonal collections. By spotlighting this craftsmanship we hope to inspire people to shop considerately and intentionally.

Debbie Gent, founder of Sorbet Living, brings industry expertise and a love for beautifully crafted pieces to her homewares brand.
Her enduring love for design is rooted in Debbie’s childhood. She fondly remembers accompanying her father on visits to factories, watching products take shape from raw ideas to their finished form. It’s a fascination that sparked her commitment to working closely with skilled artisans and supporting ‘slow interiors’ – the process of creating a mindful home with designs that enhance the owners’ wellbeing.
Travel near and far is another source of inspiration. A buying trip to Florence left Debbie captivated by the soft, natural tones of Italy; muted pastels of gelato, the gentle greens of Tuscan hills, and the sun-warmed terracotta of ancient rooftops and ceramics. These colours, earthy and grounding, form the signature palette of Sorbet Living.
With a career as a buyer in fashion and tailoring spanning a decade and buying homewares for the last twenty years, Debbie turned her passion into her own brand, reinventing Sorbet Living in 2021. She lives in a historic Wiltshire village near Shaftesbury and away from work, Debbie loves exploring the countryside, visiting cultural landmarks and gathering around a table with family and friends.
