As the British summer settles in and recent days of glorious sunshine have encouraged us outdoors, we embrace a softer, slower way of living, where sun-drenched afternoons meet Mediterranean ease.
This season is a celebration of alfresco rituals, blending the romance of an English garden with the warmth and charm of coastal Europe. Butter-soft hues, sun-faded linens and thoughtfully crafted pieces come together to create tables that linger long into golden hour.
Whether hosting friends beneath the trees or enjoying a quiet morning coffee in the garden, these are pieces created to make everyday moments feel special.
A kitchen garden gathering
Pythouse Kitchen Garden in South Wiltshire was the setting to bring our summer story to life. With its beautifully restored walled garden, flourishing greenery and dappled light, it gave the perfect backdrop for a collection inspired by seasonal living and outdoor gatherings.
The setting helped us create a scene that feels quintessentially English, and yet also gently Mediterranean. A table beneath the trees, soft sunlight filtering through the leaves, cushions and a summer mattress softening seating, bowls of seasonal produce and guests gathering with a long afternoon of conversation ahead.
A table under the trees
At the heart of the collection is the simple pleasure of sharing a meal outdoors.
Hands reach across platters, conversations overlap, the family dog wander between chairs and glasses are refilled as the afternoon drifts into evening. There is beauty in the informality of it all; a sense that the best summer moments are often the simplest. Inspired by long lunches on Mediterranean terraces and relaxed weekends in the English countryside, the scene celebrates a way of entertaining that feels welcoming rather than formal.
Designed for inside and out
The collection has been thoughtfully curated for the fluid way we live during summer. Natural fibres, sun-washed colours and handcrafted details allow pieces to move seamlessly between home and garden. A hand painted plate feels equally at home on a breakfast table or balanced on a garden bench. Elegant but easy glassware is poured with local wines, and a willow tray brings drinks to the table.
This versatility is central to the Sorbet Living approach. Rather than reserving beautiful pieces for special occasions, we believe in using them every day, allowing ordinary rituals to become moments worth savouring.
Summer gatherings, made simple
More than anything, this collection is about togetherness.
It’s about gathering friends beneath the trees, stretching lunch into late afternoon and embracing the slower rhythm of summer. It doesn’t have to be a grand dinner party; it can be a simple lunch of easy dishes sourced that day, with the focus on creating a space that feels generous and full of life.
From garden lunches and family suppers to spontaneous picnics and quiet moments in the sunshine, these are pieces designed to accompany the season’s most memorable moments.
