This spring marks a special moment for Sorbet Living as we open the doors to our very first bricks-and-mortar shop. Tucked inside a beautiful former granary barn on the historic Fonthill Estate in Wiltshire, our new space brings the Sorbet Living world into a place you can step inside, explore slowly and enjoy in person.
For the past few weeks, watched curiously by our small woolly neighbours, we’ve been gently transforming the barn into our lifestyle shop – a space filled with the colours, textures and thoughtful objects that define Sorbet Living.
A Barn with a Story
Our new home sits in the charming village of Fonthill Bishop, surrounded by countryside and just moments from the River Nadder. The village itself carries a little cinematic history too – the river scenes from the film Chocolat, starring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche, were filmed here.
With its soft countryside views and quiet setting, the barn feels like the perfect backdrop for Sorbet Living; somewhere relaxed, welcoming and full of character.
A Destination Worth the Journey
Our shop is now open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am–4pm. There is parking on site, and our lovely neighbours make it easy to turn a visit into a gentle countryside outing. You can stop for coffee at River Barn at Fonthill or visit Witchmark Distillery next door, and the much-loved The Beckford Arms is just a short drive away.
We’re also an easy journey from surrounding towns, around 30 minutes from Salisbury, Frome and Bruton, 45 minutes from Bath, and 20 minutes from Shaftesbury, making it the perfect excuse for a spring road trip.
A Place to Discover Sorbet Living
Opening this shop feels like a natural next step for Sorbet Living – a destination where our collections can be discovered slowly, touched, and enjoyed in the setting they were designed for. It’s a setting that we are hoping to evolve over the months and years too, with customer events, evening food experiences and much more in time.
We can’t wait to welcome you and share our new home.
