At Sorbet Living, we find comfort in the small rituals that mark the change in seasons. Summer sees us barefoot in the kitchen, the soft thud of the back door left ajar. Birds busy in the hedgerows, and the first breeze of the day still cool against your ankles. A quiet breakfast – toast, cherries, and coffee in a favourite mug – enjoyed without noise or hurry.
Curtains billow on the breeze. A linen cushion, gently sun-faded, rests in the window seat. There’s a throw draped on the chair by the back door for later when the warmth dips. These quiet details make a home feel considered and bring the feel of a space lived in, rather than over-styled.
When the sun sits high, life moves easily outdoors. Supper might be taken in the garden, where the light is dappled and the table is set simply: hand-thrown ceramics, napkins knotted and a jug of cool water gathering beads on its surface. Summer’s abundance lends itself to easy dining and entertaining – good bread, a scattering of herbs, stone fruit split open and the pleasure of eating what’s in season.
Like the lull of the days, the colours are softer now too. Chalky whites, sun washed pinks, mellow neutrals form the palette of our Summer Collection; timeless, tactile pieces that sit gently in the home, designed to be used and loved.

Close out the day in the garden or on a walk, feeling the warmth drift into a balmy evening and watching the sun slide down the horizon. Pull on layers and bring candles and blankets outdoors, soaking up every moment of these high summer nights.
Adopt these rituals wherever suits you – could this week bring one more meal outdoors? Why not set the table even when it’s just for you. Might your day begin more slowly this weekend, with your coffee taken standing in the doorway?
Embrace the rhythms of slow living this summer and remember it’s not just about doing more, but also noticing more in this present moment. These simple rituals will bring a stillness and simple pleasure to the season and make those summer memories even more vivid in years to come.
